Louis XIV gold 2 Louis d'Or 1702-A AU58 NGC, Paris mint, KM335.1, Fr-435, Gad-261. An impressive Double Louis d'Or that exhibits an essentially Mint State level of preservation in terms of wear to the devices, which remain clearly contoured and sharp throughout the elevated features. A centrally positioned strike leaves even rims to frame Louis' obverse bust, which contains watery golden luster that wells around his features. Only light wisps and a hint of friction preclude a very nearly deserved finer designation.
