Henry VI (1st Reign, 1422-1461) gold 1/2 Noble ND (1422-1430) AU53 NGC, Tower mint, Lis mm, Annulet issue, S-1805, N-1417, Schneider-293. 3.38gm. h | ЄnRIC (lis) DI' x GRΛ x RЄX x ΛnGL' x Ƶ (retrograde) x FRΛnC' x, crowned, armored figure of Henry standing facing in ship, sword in right hand with annulet at wrist, shield in left / (lis) DOmInЄ ★ nЄ • m • FVRORЄ • TVO • ΛRGVΛS • mЄ, large floriate cross with h at center, crowned lions in angles, all within polylobe with trefoils in spandrels (annulet in spandrel around 1 o'clock). Slightly difficult as a fractional gold denomination of this period, and retaining a superb bust of the king with his eyes, nose, mouth, and brow all fully discernible. Further evidence of a sound strike and careful preparation can be seen in the engraver's guide still visible in sections of the obverse.
