Gorinchem. City gold Imitative Rose Noble ND (1583-1591) MS63 NGC, Gorinchem mint, Fr-80, S-1952, Schneider-841. 7.54gm. Struck in imitation of the gold Ryal (Rose Noble) coinage of Edward IV. A usually rather crude type that rarely survives in Mint State condition, the offering seen here admittedly demonstrating a typical flatness to the high-points, but no rub. The imitative king's portrait in particular is quite clear for the series, with a small flan crack along the rim around the L in AnGL noted for the sake of completeness.
