Pierced silver base with enameled and engraved brass center bearing insignia of the three orders: Military Order of Christ, St. Benedict of Avis, and St. James of the Sword; and topped by an enameled Sacred Heart. Established in 1789 by Maria I to equalize the importance of each Order.
