Carol I Matte Proof Pattern 50 Lei 1906 PR61 NGC, Stamb-063-1.4. 40mm. By A. Micheaux. A fleeting silver Pattern that rarely appears on the market. We previously handled a similar example in 2014, though inspection of this offering by photo reveals a very different appearance from this piece, whose deliberately granular surface texturing results in an appealing matte finish--the first that we have seen for the issue. An indisputable rarity, and a clear target for Romanian specialists or European Pattern collectors.
