Sophia as Regent for Ivan & Peter (1682-1689) Chekh 1686 MS63 NGC, Sevsk mint, KM-Unl., Petrov-100 to 250 Rub., Sev-9 (Excessively Rare). Variety with smaller orb. A stunning survivor of a one-year type produced to supplant foreign issues (particularly Polish issues) in the newly regained territory of Little Russia (modern Ukraine). The coin at hand finds itself in a covetable state of preservation, ranked at the very peak of NGC's census, and is generally encountered in lesser conditions, accompanied by holes or other qualifiers. We note that the type has been assigned the highest rarity by Severin and is listed at a price of 100 to 250 Roubles in Petrov's 1899 work. Mislabeled on the holder as Sev-8.
