James VIII silver Restrike Pattern Crown 1716 AU55 PCGS, KM-PT2, S-5731. A popular and scarce silver Pattern type, struck by Matthew Young c. 1828. Sharp and attractive, this example was produced from dies engraved by Roettiers, its restrike status identifiable by the presence of die rust across and surrounding James's bust. A soft silver patina adds a sense of refined age to this impressive and highly collectible piece.
