INDIA. Reserve Bank of India. 100 Rupees, ND (1959). P-R6. PMG About Uncirculated 50.
This example boasts a vibrant red color with orange and yellow hues throughout. This note sits proudly atop PMG's pop report at the time of cataloging. PMG has graded just 12 examples of this pick number, leaving collectors grasping at straws to try and acquire one of these treasures. Prefix HA with HAJ arched on each side of the arched Reserve Bank of India cornice atop the note. Issuing office of Bombay noted on the bottom. H.V.R. IYENGAR signature at the Governor's panel.

Ashoka column serving as both the watermark and right vignette with noticeable lathe work permeating throughout the design. Reserve Bank of India seal type 1 on the reverse with a type 4A language panel at center. 17.1 X 10.7 cm in size with just some pinholes which should be expected for the type and some stains to report that are noted on the holder.

This astonishing example is one of few treasures of not just Indian Banknotes, but World Banknotes that escape even the most prestigious of collections. PMG comments "Staple Holes at Issue, Spindle Holes." PMG Pop 1/None Finer.

Estimate: $40000 - $50000
