PANAMA. 1952 Look 'N See #52. Vasco Núñez de Balboa. PSA EX-MT 6.
In 1952 Topps came out with a series of baseball cards that feature the coveted 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie that recently sold for a record-breaking $5.2 Million. At the same time, they also released a Look 'N See series featuring famous historical figures like Abraham Lincoln, Queen Elizabeth II, Mark Twain, among others. Included in that set, is this rare Vasco Núñez de Balboa card showcasing the popular portrait of the explorer that is very similar to the one found on the Panamanian banknotes. We thought it would be fun to offer one such example to the public. These examples are usually found with qualifiers like "miscut" or "off centered" when encountered graded.
