GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1698 Year DECIMO. London Mint. William III. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield.
S-3494; KM-492.2. This lovely choice uncirculated representative exhibits bold frosty devices with plenty of original mint luster, retaining much flash that pops out when tilted in the light. The surfaces display light attractive mottled gray patina with areas of richer coloration and hues of iridescence adding to its pleasing appearance. It is of interest to note that many silver issues from this era overwhelmingly exhibit hay marks or other minor imperfections found on the planchet. The present piece does show a few minor hay marks on both sides, but far less then normally encountered. This handsome and original looking example offers good eye appeal and is highly desirable sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
