Obverse: Leucothoe offers her scarf while hovering above Ulysses, who clings to the mast of a sinking ship; Reverse: OB / CIVES / SERVATOS in three lines within wreath. Edge: "LIEUTt DAVID RYMER, R. N. 20th JUNE, 1838." A VERY RARE and highly attractive award medal, this piece exhibits mostly blast white surfaces that have been frosted and glazed, though some golden toning does accentuate the obverse devices rather alluringly. Includes original case of issue, with gilt inlay reading "PRESENTED / BY / LLOYDS."
