KUSHAN EMPIRE. Vasudeva II (ca. A.D. 267-300). AV Dinar (7.88 gms), Main mint in Mathura/Gandhara. EXTREMELY FINE Details. Marks.
Donum Burns-715. Obverse: Vasudeva standing left, sacrificing over altar and holding filleted staff; filleted trident to left; Brahmi letters around; Reverse: Ithyphallic Siva standing facing, holding trident and either garland or diadem; behind, the bull Nandi standing left; tamgha to upper left. A few light marks in the obverse field and on the rim are noted, but this example otherwise features a delightful tone accentuating the devices.
