ALEXIUS I, 1081-1118. AV Hyperpyron (4.41 gms), Thessalonica Mint, 1092/3-1118. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Slight Bend.
S-1924. Obverse: Christ Pantokrator seated facing on throne; Reverse: Alexius standing facing, holding labarum and globus cruciger, and being crowned by manus Dei to upper right. A slight bend is noted, though not at all that obvious given the already scyphate nature of the flan. Highly lustrous and brilliant, with a solid strike and only a few scattered marks.
