LEBANON. Aluminum 2-1/2 Piastres, ND (1942-45). PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield.
KM-13; Lec-48. Local World War II emergency issue struck in Aleppo. Brilliant, silver-white mint frost on both sides, with just a tinge of pale golden toning. Well struck on a thick, high quality aluminum planchet. PCGS has inadvertently created two different coin numbers for this issue, and the cumulative population indicated below reflects both of them. This lovely example is tied for the finest certified by PCGS.
The Cedars Collection of Lebanese Coinage, 1924-1961.
