Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1833-Go MJ Mexico republic 8 Reales; Die style of 1830-43, straight "J" with three periods ":." after date variety. One of the more abundant dates for this mint, we have 19 examples documented with five crown varieties. The countermark is deeply impressed with good definition of the fine details on a richly toned pleasant looking host. The surfaces are smooth with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices adding to its originality and eye appeal.
