Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1834-Go MJ Mexico republic 8 Reales; Die style of 1830-43, three periods ":." after date variety. We have 14 documented examples with three different crown varieties. The countermark is unevenly applied with part of the crown obscured. A nicely preserved and attractively toned survivor. The surfaces are smooth with good even wear on the high points with plenty of remaining detail. A wholesome example of the type with a good look.
