Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1832-Zs OM Mexico republic 8 Reales; Die style of 1825-42. An available date from this mint. We have ten recorded examples with five different crown varieties. The countermark is even, but somewhat flat, applied to a moderately worn host displaying mottled gray patina. The reverse on the opposing side of the countermark shows evidence of being repaired. An apparent attempt was made to remove some graffiti and then cleaned abrasively.
