Obverse: Mantled bust of Franz Joseph I right; Reverse: Female figure allegorical of the Arts seated facing slightly left on plinth, holding up decorative rectangular cartouche inscribed 1888; to left and right, two nude genii--one holding shield and palm frond, the other holding laurel wreath and torch. Edge: Reeded. Mostly steely gray, this alluringly choice specimen offers some vibrant hints of brilliance as well as a deeper tone highlighting the devices and as one approaches the peripheries.
