Obverse: Bust right in frock coat; Reverse: Scene from the "Prologue in Heaven" from Faust I: the Lord sits among the clouds in contemplation, being drawn into a bet by Mephistopholes to right; in background to right, three archangels (Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael) pose as Valkyries, with dragon to lower left. Edge: [hallmark] located at 1h, [two hallmarks] located at 7h. A very large and provocative piece, this specimen presents tremendous intricate artistry with a charming matte nature and steely gray hues overall.
