IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 600-550 BC. EL Hemihekte – Twelfth Stater (8mm, 1.01 g). Lydo-Milesian standard. Head of serpent(?) left, with open jaw and lolling tongue / Volute design within conforming incuse. Cf. SNG Kayhan 1538 (hekte of issue, with volute design in one incuse); CNG 94, lot 598; Triton XIII, lot 1310; CNG E-249, lot 143. Lightly toned, edge split. VF.
