SASANIAN KINGS. Hormizd II (302-309 AD). Silver Drachm (3.88 gm; 28 mm). Hormizd's bust with eagle / winged standard crown turning right, group of triple dots on korimbos, mint letters "AT" (Aturpadgaan) Azarbaijanin in back of the crown above the hair. reverse, fire altar with a large dot with attendants, figure in the fire altar turning left, Attendant to the left with korimbos (possible Hormizd crown) and the one on the right without it. Most mint abbreviations of Hormizd II appear at the bottom of fire altar. Sunrise 820. Superb style, of highest rarity among Hormizd II series. Choice EF. Lightly toned.
