SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhran) IV. AD. 388-399. Æ (1.32 gm; 15 mm). Bahram's bust turning right with a symbol/monogram similar to Kidarite Tamgha in front of face, reverse; stand alone fire altar. Bahram IV ran a successful campaign against Kidarites and their Allied Huns who attached Roman and Persian empires. Kidarites devastated the areas in both empires, their defeat was a temporary retrieve for Sasanian court to pay attention to build fortifications that could stop such attacks in the future. Lovely strike on a full flan. Brown reddish patina. Choice Good VF. Extremely rare.
