A note from BCD: The author, rather arbitrarily, divides the collectable Greek coins into various areas, throwing in a few city-states for good measure. But why Sicily and not Crete? And why Naples and not Larissa? Towards the end of the book he suggests thematic collecting and this is probably one of his better ideas. Judging from the proposed books in the small and inadequate "Further Reading" section, he favours English publications and we can therefore assume that his plentiful but unprovenanced photographs come from British sources.
