A note from BCD: Massimo Rossi is probably better known to most for his Aretusa and AstArte auction series and of course for the important sale of his numismatic library. Nevertheless, these scarce early lists already reveal a young man with deeper understanding than most in anything connected with numismatic books and especially auction catalogues. There are a total of eight plates of ancient coin photos in these lists, the majority of them Roman. Reading his auction catalogue offerings and the way he prices them in his literature list is also quite revealing.
