Isaac II Angelus. First reign, 1185-1195. EL Aspron Trachy (31.5mm, 4.45 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. The Theotokos enthroned facing, holding head of the Holy Infant on lap; •|• on cushion to either side of throne / Isaac, holding cruciform scepter and akakia, being crowned by St. Michael the Archangel, holding scepter. DOC (2c.9); SB 2002. Toned, a few striking fractures, light scratches/graffiti in margins. Good VF.
