Scottish, Irish and Island Coins from Various Properties

Ireland, Henry VII, Late Portrait issues, Groat, Dublin, type IA, mm. unclear, high-arched crown, tressure with small trefoils on some points, reads posvi etc, eivi and dvbiinie, small five-pointed star before tas, 1.66g/1h (S 6455; DF 194). Some surface stains, otherwise about very fine for issue, very rare £500-£700

---

The style of the obverse is very unusual, with its long face, ropey hair and an unusually large crown with double jewelled arches, reminiscent of the English coins of class IIIa. On the reverse, the star or rosette in the inner legend is apparently not recorded
