Central American Republic gold 2 Escudos 1825 NG-M AU Details (Reverse Scratched) NGC, Nueva Guatemala mint, KM12, Fr-28, Stickney-C101. The inaugural date for the type, and one encountered with great infrequency on the auction market in any condition, a fact confirmed by the presence of just six examples from this year in NGC's census, only three of which certify in Mint State. Even the Eliasberg example only certified at an AU55, and appeared very close in overall preservation to the present piece, save for the noted scratches. Soundly struck rendering a clear expression of detail, both sides beam with luster, a soft reddened tone taking to the margins to bring its visual presentation full circle.
