Chihuahua. Ferdinand VII "Royalist" 8 Reales 1822 CA-RP XF40 NGC, Chihuahua mint, KM111.1, Ramírez-C8.12.1 (same dies). Struck over a previous Royalist cast 8 Reales, with hints of the undertype still visible, and including the characteristic "T" stamp to the left of Ferdinand's bust. Notably finer than the "average" quality that one might encounter for this type, with clear detail and a balanced patina overlying lustrous features. We note that 1822-dated examples are valued the highest for the type in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, and this is the first such representative that we have offered.
