ALMOHAD:LOT of 49 copper square "dirhams", with mint name Sabta, though not necessary struck there; type A-497A; average VF condition, but almost all with some adhesions on both sides (gentle cleaning should help); retail value $750, lot of 49 pieces. Believed to be a contemporary forgery, possibly intended to have been silver-plated, but all known specimens lack the plating. They are of excellent calligraphy, either struck from stolen official dies, or officially issued by the Almohades in times of economic or political despair.
Estimate: 240-300 USD
