MEDIEVAL ISLAMIC YEMEN:LOT of 44 pieces, mostly silver, mostly lower quality: Rassid (14 pcs): 1st period, AR sudaysi, 7 of al-Hadi & 4 of al-Nasir (average VF, some chipped), and 3rd period, 3 AR average VG; Ayyubid (9): Common types, including 'Adan 608 & 609, Zabid 606, 608, 610, mostly VF with minor chips or other flaws, and 4 of less quality; Rasulid (4): all heavily damaged and little value; Husaynid Sharif (1): Nur al-Din, only Fair condition; Ottoman (9): all 'uthmanis of Suleyman I, only one decent strike (San'a, frozen date AH926), the rest with date missing and poor quality; Mamluk (1), common AR of Qansuh al-Ghuri, Fine; plus 4 copper coins of little value (poor quality), and 2 interesting imitations in silver of Zecchinos of Venetia, possibly of Yemeni origin (both VF-EF), retail value $650, lot of 44 pieces.
