The Uvedale Collection | AU Details | George II (1727-1760), Guinea, 1753 over 2, older laureate head left, large lettering, rev. crowned shield of arms, edge chevron milled, 8.37g, 6h (cf. Farey 960 [VR]; cf. EGC 616 [R3]; MCE 328; Spink 3680), sporadic scuffing to rim and in fields, and 'saltwater' surfaces, otherwise a very rare year for issue, the 1753/2 overdate previously unrecorded in the major reference works, in NGC holder, graded AU Details ~ Saltwater Samage (Cert. 6135269-009).
