Samwer's Scarce 1883 Work on Early Roman Coinage

Wien: W.H. Kühl, 1883. 8vo, contemporary brown cloth-backed marbled boards. 215, (1) pages; 8 folding tables; folding map; 4 fine plates of coins. Text a little browned; spine somewhat frayed. Very good. Very scarce. One of the first works on which Max Bahrfeldt (not yet von) served as editor; Samwer was his father-in-law, Bahrfeldt having married Elisabeth Mary Charlotte Samwer in 1878. Babelon 199: "K. Samwer published a remarkable history of the primitive coinage of Rome, published the day after his death." Clain-Stefanelli 3813.
