The rare, superbly illustrated, original edition of Georg Habich's magnum opus on German medals and presentation talers of the 16th and 17th centuries. This absolutely indispensable and superbly illustrated standard reference work defines not only the artistic excellence of German renaissance medals but their historical importance as well. Published with the support of the Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Deutschen Vereins für Kunstwissenschaft.
