The Walters sale is Clain-Stefanelli 5740. The Carlyon-Britton collection was one of the most important of Anglo-Saxon and Norman coins ever sold at auction. Clain-Stefanelli 5200. Grierson 296: "Ouvrage de référence essentiel. Une des collections les plus importantes de ces séries." Manville & Robertson, page 219: "The most important collection offered in the English field [between 1910 and 1919] was by P.W.P.
