Qing Dynasty. Irregular Yuansi Changyuankezi ("Fine Silk Oval") Sycee of 1 Tael ND, cf. Cribb-LXXXV.A.1174 (different weight). 35mm. 35.28gm. Highly unusual and perhaps the product of an exceptionally shallow or defective mold; though usually quite ovular as a type, more irregular pieces, such as the cited specimen, are known. While admitting clear rub to the face, the base is minimally touched and highly original.
