Russia Commemorative Medal (1839) ММД 'Emperor Nicholas I - Founder of the Borodino Museum'. The obverse of the medal depicts a bust portrait of Emperor Nicholas I in a general's uniform; in profile; facing to the left. Along the edge there is an inscription: 'EMPEROR NICHOLAS I - FOUNDER OF THE BORODINSK MUSEUM. 1839 '. The reverse of the medal depicts the central monument on the Rayevsky battery. The names of the medalists are engraved at the base of the monument: 'N. Grineva '; ' A. Illarionov '. The medal is made of silver plated bronze. Weight approx: 146.86 g. Diameter: 71 mm
