(S/M#Y11). Tientsin. The highest denomination for the series, and found here in a Printer's Essay form. Excess selvage is found at the left of the note. The obverse depicts arms at top center, with large "$100" counters in the upper left and right corners. The design is found in dark red ink on the obverse and reverse. The reverse of the name displays the bank name at center, with crown above and a seal below the design. Intricate lathe work stands out in good detail. Extremely scarce, and the first we can recall handling in our lengthy history. PMG comments "Stains."
