PORTUGAL. Banco de Portugal. 20 Mil Reis, 1892. P-71. Fine.
An extremely scarce offering of this June 28 1892 dated 20 Mil Reis note. Allegorical figures are depicted at the top left and right margins, with arms at center. A floral design is found at the bottom with a "20" counter at lower center. The reverse displays arms at left and a counter at right, both of which are surrounded by ornate guilloches. The embossed seal at center is still visible and offers good appeal for the assigned condition. Internal tears are noticed at the center fold, with margin tears noticed at center. Found in Fine condition. While this note is not encapsulated by a grading company, PMG's Population Report lists just one example in their census. We can't imagine more than a handful of these notes are floating around. Scarce, and sure to draw spirited bidding.
