By J.-C. Chaplain. Diameter: 68mm. Obverse: Bust left in ornamental regalia and wearing numerous Orders; Reverse: Legend and date in seven lines; garlanded palm frond curling to left. Edge: ARGENT [cornucopia]. Struck to commemorate Jonkheer Carel Herman Aart van der Wyck, who served as Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies from 1893 through 1899. Gunmetal gray, with a deeper tone as one approaches portions of the peripheries. Quite attractive and alluring.
