An ever-popular host type, this date is the most frequently encountered and can be obtained in various states of preservation. For this date we have more than 50 documented examples. The countermark is decently applied with the pertinent diagnostic details bold and clear on a moderately worn host. Attractive mottled gray patina with areas of richer coloration amongst the devices and an iridescent sheen adds to its pleasing appearance. Close inspection reveals evidence of a past cleaning, now subdued and attractive.
