THAILAND. Copper-Nickel Baht Pattern, ND (1868). Rama V. PCGS SPECIMEN-63.
KM-Pn29; Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 164, Plate F32. Plain Edge. A RARE type, this elegant pattern Baht is stylistically similar to the Baht issue of Rama IV (ca. 1863), with the primary difference appearing in the ornamentation of the royal seal on the reverse. Unquestionably premium quality for the grade, it possesses strong reflective characteristics in the fields and is awash with charming sunset-orange tone on both sides. Due to its striking in hard nickel alloy, the design appears just short of full in the centers, which is quite possibly the only grade-limiting factor over either side. With its accompanying famous pedigree, a coin that is sure to receive immense attention from the series specialist.
