(t) CHINA. Zhili Shuzuyinbao. Provincial Pure Silver Ingots. Silver 10.75 Tael Bank Ingot, ND. Graded "XF" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
BMC-Class XXI Group B. Weight: 381.9 gms. "Shi Zu Se" (pure quality); "Yu Feng Hao" (Yufeng Bank); "Shan" (mountain, meaning uncertain). This nicely preserved example displays mottled gray patina with areas of richer coloration. The two long stamps are well applied, though the central stamp exhibits areas of weakness in the middle, and the small circular stamp is bold and even. Close inspection reveals minor shaving on the rims and the surfaces do show a slight granularity, though hardly distracting. Despite its shortcomings this RARE ingot type seldom appears on the market sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
Estimate: $900 - $1200
