CHINA. Dollar, Year 3 (1914). NGC MS-63.
L&M-63E; cf. K-649; KM-Y-329; WS-0174-18. Curly haired/"Hunan" variety. The only Mint State example of the variety on the NGC population report. Several pronounced details differentiate this piece from the other Yuan Shi-kai provincial or "Warlord" issues. Notable differences include the elongated denticles, the size and shape of the ear, as well as the characters in the obverse legend. Wang Chun Li's reference book assigns this piece to Hunan province. Nice strike, lustrous and deeply toned.
Estimate: $15000 - $25000
