(t) CHINA. Dollar, Year 3 (1914). PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, EF Details.
L&M-63G; KM-Y-329; WS-0174-16. Sinkiang variety. This distinctly crude example from the far western mint is quite charming, but is a far-cry from the original design. The engraving does capture Yuan Shih-kai's likeness more or less; lacking the refinement usually associated with this prolific issue. Heavy die lines in the open areas with other signs of degradation are easily seen offering interesting characteristics. Areas of black encrustation account for the details grade adding a bit of character. An interesting issue of the early Republic sure to add depth to the next collection it enters.

Estimate: $400 - $600
