(t) CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, Year 12 (1923). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details.
L&M-81; K-680; KM-Y-336; WS-0114. Small characters variety. A nicely preserved example with bold devices displaying light mottled gray patina with a slight iridescent sheen that pops out when tilted in the light. Evidence of a past cleaning as indicated on the PCGS insert, now subdued by the attractive patination. Despite its shortcomings a handsome representative of this popular type that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
Often referred to as the "Pu Yi Wedding Dollar" featuring a dragon and peacock straddling the national emblem, which was never officially adopted.
Estimate: $15000 - $20000
