CHINA. Fantasy "Emperor Kuang-hsu" Silver Dollar, ND (ca. 1920s). PCGS MS-62.
K-B23; KMX-M125; WS-1349-7. Diameter: 39mm. Obverse: Kuang-hsu facing with hat and ornamental dragon outfit; Reverse: Double dragons surrounding linear arrangement of Chinese characters. Struck to commemorate the death of Emperor Kuang-hsu. Sharply struck with a base of deep olive tone that contains some elements of blue and gold on both sides. A VERY RARE type in this quality, as most we have offered over the years display wear (likely from being kept as a keepsake) or some form of significant damage. Accordingly, this is the single finest example that has been graded by PCGS to date.

From the Stephen K. Scher Collection.

Ex: Irving Goodman Collection (Superior 6/1991) Lot # 1305.

Estimate: $5000 - $8000
