(t) CHINA. Hupeh. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), ND (1895-1907). NGC MS-62.
L&M-182; K-40; KM-Y-127.1; WS-0873. This gently handled example displays a pale iridescent golden sheen that shifts with the cartwheel luster when rotated in the light. The devices are frosty with a bit of the typical strike weakness on the highest points of the dragon's body. The reverse offers an interesting diagnostic, an irregular circular die crack just past "湖" in the legend that continues along the outside, finally terminating at "七". This handsome survivor is very attractive and pleasing to the eye and is sure to catch the attention of the specialist.
Estimate: $4000 - $6000
