CHINA. Yunnan. Tael, ND (1943-44). PCGS MS-61.
L&M-435; K-939; KM-A3; WS-0704; Lec-325. Variety with small stag's head. Struck for use in the French Indo-China opium trade. A few spots of peripheral toning are noted, as well as some very minor--and typical--planchet defects at the edges, but this Mint State specimen nevertheless remains a highly enticing overall example with good brilliance emanating from the fields.
Estimate: $4000 - $6000
