GREAT BRITAIN. Great Britain - Mexico. Dollar, ND (1797-99). George III. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details.
S-3765a; KM-634; ESC-129. Bank of England type I countermark (which grades AU Detail): bust of George III within oval indent on a 1793-Mo FM Mexico 8 Reales of Charles IV (KM-109). We don't see much in the way of hairlines but the blotchy color lends credence to the "Details" designation. The coin was struck using a strongly clashed reverse die.
Estimate: $600 - $800
