KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.42 g, 12 h), pseudo-Rhodian type, struck for the mercenaries of Perseus during the third Macedonian war, uncertain mint, probably in Samothrace, 171-168, with the name of the Rhodian mint magistrate Gorgos. Head of Helios facing slightly to right. Rev. ΓOPΓOΣ / P - O Rose with bud right; to left, bow in quiver. Cf. Ashton 288. Cf. SNG Keckman 582-4. Flan crack, otherwise, about extremely fine.
